Be Imitators Of God

All Christians should strive to be imitators of God. We should desire to live a more Christ-like life. How can we do this? Saint Paul gives us the answer, and I have shared it in today’s powerful, yet very brief message. You won’t want to miss this. Please read more.

Sometimes there is nothing more to say. Some passages in the Bible are so clear, concise, and understandable that no explanation is required. Today, let’s look at and take to heart, the words Paul wrote in Ephesians 4:30-5:2. Here is what he said:

“Brothers and sisters:

Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with which you were sealed for the day of redemption. All bitterness, fury, anger, shouting, and reviling must be removed from you, along with all malice. And be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another as God has forgiven you in Christ.

So be imitators of God, as beloved children, and live in love, as Christ loved us and handed himself over for us as a sacrificial offering to God for a fragrant aroma.”

What could I possible add to that. I am pretty sure this may be the shortest 4th Day Letter I have ever written. Simply stated, we need to be imitators of God and Paul tells us how to do that.

May I suggest that perhaps we should start off each morning with a short prayer like this:

Heavenly Father, I know I have been sealed by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, I want to conform my life to Christ my Savior. I want to live in love as Jesus did. Remove all bitterness, fury, anger, shouting, and reviling from me. Help me to be kind, compassionate, and forgiving to everyone I encounter today. Amen!
